Portrait photographer in Geneva : How to prepare for your photo shoot ?

Before your photo shoot, you must be physically and mentally ready. To avoid any stress the day of the photo shoot. You have to prepare your physical appearance and take into account the mental aspect of a photo shoot.

For some people, it is difficult to pose in front of a photographer. So it is important to ask all questions before the session to reassure yourself and get to know the person in charge of the photo shoot and be comfortable with.

Your physical appearance :

1. Take care of your face before the photo shoot, check if your hairstyle, eyebrows or eyelashes need small adjustments. A hairstyle that suits you and highlights you is important to make you feel comfortable.

2. The days before the photo shoot, be sure to eat well and drink plenty of water. You should avoid greasy, oily and salty foods the days before the shoot, as these foods can cause skin blemishes.

Finally, avoid eating or drinking anything that could stain your teeth. The night before your photo shoot, prepare everything you need for your photo shoot. This will save you from having to hurry just before your photo shoot.

 3. The photo shoot will focus largely on your face, but often hands will appear in the photo, so check your nails just in case. Make sure your nails are well maintained. If you plan to go barefoot, also make sure your feet and toes are clean.

The shooting location :

Make sure all you need for your shooting have been made. Make sure you know where you need to go for your photo shoot, which is the quickest and easiest route to get there.

It is very important that you know how to get to the place where the session will take place, and all those taking part in the photo shoot (makeup artist, assistants, etc.) must also know how to get to the shooting location.

Finally, make sure you know which outfits or accessories you will bring with you for the photo shoot and prepare it.

The day of the shooting :

Before leaving for your photo shoot, have a light meal to get the energy you need. Because the photo sessions are more demanding physically and mentally than one can imagine.

And skipping a meal before a shoot can cause you to run out of energy, thus losing your focus and could affect the quality of your photos. Bring a bottle of water, snacks and anything else you may need for the session.
